I'd like to write some songs that are so good that nobody understands them. Not even myself.
Occasionally, I have to think like myself to remember where I put something.
I'm an all-things-in-moderation kind of person. I do eat a warm donut occasionally. I especially enjoy a cider donut when I'm apple picking. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Originally, I wanted to be a composer. I always tell people, 'I think of myself as a composer.'
I don't sit there writing songs, thinking, 'This would be good for Rihanna.' I don't want to be pitching out like that.
I always want to do things that really have to be done, something that's a challenge - and I'm trying not to repeat myself.
I really don't want to be known as a fashionista. I'd like to be someone more than that.
I thought if I really wanted to be serious about writing, I should make my own desk.
Writing is mentally stimulating; it's like a puzzle that makes you think all the time.
