I was interested in music and making movies about musicians, but my own experiences, and doing what it felt like for me to be a drummer? Nah, I wasn't interested in that.
As actors, the thing we have to fight, more than even the business part of making movies, is boredom.
I can't draw a stick person. I can't play a musical instrument. But I've always had a knack for making money.
I love the idea of thinking of cinema as not that far from music. A lot of my favourite movie makers, the way they move their cameras or the way they cut just feel very musical - even if the movies have no music in them at all.
I love to go to a regular movie theater, especially when the movie is a big crowd-pleaser. It's much better watching a movie with 500 people making noise than with just a dozen.
If I had to put in order what I love to do the most, it would be musical theater, movies, and then television.
I love making movies, but there's nothing like being in front of an audience.
I would love to see more women making their mark in the music that I love so much ... There are so many more out there just waiting for their shot. I hope they get it!
I love people who just started making movies - first-timers, second-timers. They take chances.
