I've always written songs the same way. You learn different tricks - you learn craft, you learn structure, all that - as you go.
The Small Faces was such a different band than the Faces. I know three of us are the same, but when you take Steve Marriott out, it's a very different band.
I take care of myself. I work out three times a week. I have a trainer, and we just work out for an hour.
I try to do things in one take, but doubling rhythm parts is always difficult, especially if you want things to cut the way I want them to cut.

You look at the world around you, and you take it apart into all its components. Then you take some of those components, throw them away, and plug in different ones, start it up and see what happens.

You can take a substance that works in your system, but then you take this over here that's not banned, and this over here that's not banned, but if you mix them together, you've got a banned substance in your system.
I'm writing all the time. I tend to work on at least two books simultaneously. I'll spend time with one, and then I'll spend time with the other. Finishing takes whatever time it takes.
