I try to write about real women, real people - in other words flawed characters.
I don't want to write lines where characters tell me exactly how they feel; I want to see people talk about anything but their feelings, like they do in real life.
Real people - the interesting ones, anyway - don't remain static, and neither do the ones I write about. Changes take place, and they react to them.
I hate thinking about it, teaching about it, and writing about it. But the plain truth is that hell is real and real people go there for eternity.
If people are concerned about my house and where I live again it's much more of a reflection on them than it is on me.
Every reader knows about the feeling that characters in books seem more real than real people.
I'm sure some people have an absolute grasp of where they are in their careers. I just don't think about it that much.
You have to always try to think about them like real people first, and not just heroes. They have to be real characters. As people do more and more superhero stuff, the characters are what distinguish it, just like in cop shows.
I'm one of those people that I make a song... then I write another song and then I'm like, 'But this song is so much better than this song,' and then I kind of ditch that song. It's a long process.
