Family time was very difficult when my girls were little, but I never missed a birthday; I was there for every major event.
I did a song in eight minutes. I thought everybody could write songs that fast. But working with a lot of them, they don't.
I write these shows one joke at a time. There's no continuity. I do try to figure an order to the stories, but there's not continuity.
I try to see the good in everybody, and I don't care who people are as long as they're themselves, whatever that is.
Every time I write a book, I've probably taken five years off my life.
I came over when I was 10 years old, which was very difficult because everybody made fun of me.
Working on my own gave me a chance to take my time and experiment a lot.
I've had friends of mine say, like, they're tired of 'gayface,' and I was like, 'What's gayface?' They were like, 'It's the gay version of blackface: like, come in and be more effeminate.'
I'm very confident with myself and, like, yeah, everyone has little issues about themselves, but I don't, you know... I don't really worry about it.
