An actor really is a kind of intermediary between an audience and the piece, whether it's a play or movie.
As an actor, if you decide that someone is bad... you can't play bad, because even the worst person doesn't think what they're doing is bad.
An agent is a person who is sore because an actor gets 90% of what they make.
As an actor, you want to do something which audience don't expect from you.
It's fun to do accents; it's fun to do different periods - that's why you become an actor. Because it's fun to be a storyteller and play make-believe.
The whole point is it's about getting as many people to come and see the play as you can.
If you're going to act and do this for a living, you want to play something that the audience didn't expect.
I don't know how you make a living without a few personal compromises.
That's one of the fun parts of becoming an actor: You can become whoever you want to be.
