One thing I like about jazz is that it emphasized doing things differently from what other people were doing.
Establishment, career politicians are about saying one thing and doing another.
It's one thing to live my own life and know that I'm O.K. But there's another thing I want to take on, and that is letting people know that they're O.K., too.
Yet, that's what studios do. If one thing works, they'll keep doing it till it runs its course and people aren't interested anymore.
