I'm working now on a collection of Shakespearean sonnets, about 100 of them, that I may publish if anyone's interested. My take on life is a little different from the bard's.
I didn't like children. I didn't think of myself as a child. I didn't like any of the things other children were interested in.
I love music, and I love drumlines. I like school bands a lot. There's nothing wrong with cheerleading, but I'd rather be a band geek. It's a little more interesting.
Nothing fires me up like losing. It certainly makes you want to go that extra bit.
I think I've become more like my mom just because of what we're both interested in, children and teaching and writing.
I couldn't care less about league tables. I'm more interested in kitchen tables and conference room tables.
I knew when I was 6. I just knew it; I didn't care about nothing else. If I didn't make it in this world, I would probably be homeless. I gave myself that little to fall back on.
We all come from our own little planets. That's why we're all different. That's what makes life interesting.
There's nothing I find more lazy than unmotivated camerawork just to make things look interesting.
