I write to explore something that fascinates me, and I write the way I do because it is the only way I know how to write.
That adage about 'Write what you know' is basically the opposite of the way I function. I write about what I'm curious to find out.
I write what I write in the way that I write it. I'm not being abstract, you know. I'm talking about something that, you know, is a part of my life.
I don't know why you should be proud of something. It doesn't make you any better or worse. You are what you are.
You know, there are some areas of the state that are providing enormous help to their students; there are others where they're not doing what they can.

You know, I do speak the Queens English. It's just the wrong Queens that's all. It's over the 59th Street Bridge. It's not over the Atlantic Ocean.
I just wanted to make sure that what I write is what appears on screen, to not have some idiot change it on its way to the screen.
I mean if someone you know pushes a button you're gonna strike back out.
