No one told me I had to make something that would sell, but I personally want everyone to like my music.
Growing up, I was in all the musicals and everything... I'd come home from school and bash out a few Whitney Houston songs.
There was a revolution going on at home. Why didn't I earn some money? Why didn't I do something practical, like chicken farming?
The only film I ever made for money was something called 'Music From Another Room', which I really didn't like.
I focused on the saxophone ever since high school. It wasn't until my album 'Poetica,' which I recorded in 2006, that I went back to the clarinet. It felt like it was waiting for me!
Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn't work from the beginning, it's never going to work. Don't push it.
Find something in life that you love doing. If you make a lot of money, that's a bonus, and if you don't, you still won't hate going to work.
There's so much more bad information than good information out there - everybody's got something to say and it's usually wrong.
There's nothing like a good cheating song to make me want to run home to be with my wife.
