Hmm... at some point when I was making 'Postcards,' it struck me, what the underlying themes for the record would be. It would be about choices, fears and doubts, and it had an existentialist theme to it.
You put too many songs on your record, and it ends up like a family with too many kids: some of them get neglected.
You can get so many sounds out of one record. Every record can be used in some way.
People out there maybe know who Junior Parker is and some of those Sun Records blues guys.
That Mississippi sound, that Delta sound is in them old records. You can hear it all the way through.
