I'm very self-conscious as an actor, with performances and things, and I don't like watching my own stuff.
When I do have time to work on music, I'm kind of selfish, and would rather work on my own stuff than someone else's.
It really just gives you a sense of when you need to have dialogue and when you don't, and if your pictures are telling the story, you don't need to have all this talking.
I like pieces that are cool and simple. I try to wear really cute things, but they just don't suit me at all.
We really try to make sure that the band writes the songs, not just one person.
When I work on my own stuff - and I think this is true for anybody - but when you work on something that you just completely own, you are trying to stay as true to your own storytelling voice as you can.
I just want people to see that I do my own stuff, that I'm not stupid, and I can make fun of myself.
I don't really like to play live. I don't like to be on stage. I feel very self-conscious.
Sometimes if I tell people, 'I'm afraid that I'm really a fraud,' or 'I have a lot of self-doubt,' they go, 'Oh, no, you're kidding.' I go, 'No, I'm really honest.'
