I outline and outline and outline, and then I'm very specific about the stuff I write. That's my process.
People think that because I write about India I must be trying to portray India in a way.
I write about true-life type things.
Usually when I write a song, I'll write the music and then kind of fit some words to it.
I don't think about the styles. I write whatever comes out and I use whatever kind of instrumentation works for those songs.
There's really only three things you can write music about: girls, cars and surfing.
