When you play a character, there's always a part of you. Like, you always bring out a side of you when you do another character.
The characters I've portrayed may outwardly be quite different from one another, but I've found that they're also intrinsically linked.
I'm an actor's director. I love it when talented actors can bring characters to life.
I frankly couldn't imagine being a series mystery-fiction writer, churning out book after book about the same viewpoint character.
There's something to be said about sitting in front of the TV and being removed from your own life and just pushed into another one.
I do always like to do things I haven't done before, so I'm always looking out for things in a different genre, or a different sort of character.
The way I approach the character isn't about being gay or straight. It's just about who you love. Gender has very little to do with it.
On the pitch, I will always be like that. That's my character, and I will always compete and compete - always. I'm a different guy off the pitch, as you can see, but on the pitch, I will not change.
It draws you in and creates pictures, so what I do is almost like a talking story book.
