I try to play real people who inspire me through something in their journey.
I started 'Will & Grace' when I was 39, and Nick started 'Parks and Rec' when he was 39. And he's really on the same trajectory; it's all happening with the same timing. It's so funny to see it all happening again.
It's things I wouldn't normally do in my real life, so when I go to work and get to beat people up and shoot guns and get waterboarded, those are things I find completely interesting.
Stress means something different if it is the result of rewarding work rather than struggling to keep the family out of debt.
I've often wondered, when they've done Of Mice And Men on stage, and I've seen it, how they did that gun thing. I've watched it on stage, but I don't remember it.
It'd be really nice to sit down with all the people who have hurt me and tell them all the reasons that they've affected me.
I feel strongly that I need to try to make my shows as real as possible. What you see is what you get.
I didn't really like 'You Raise Me Up' at the time we recorded it; now it's my favourite Westlife song.
I'm my own hero on the sets; why should I work with other heroes? The Khans did not want to work with me when I started. Why should I work with them now?
