For me, the drive is storytelling. To be a part of an art that tells a story and to be a catalyst, a color in that, is very exciting.
I start with an idea that is no more than a paragraph long, and expand it slowly into an outline. But I'm always surprised by the directions things take when I actually start writing.
Why go to Antarctica, why do a film like 'Grizzly Man'? It's the sheer joy of storytelling - it's the urge.
I don't actually do anything special to get in the proper frame of mind for creepy/heinous scenes.
He who lives in our mind is near though he may actually be far away; but he who is not in our heart is far though he may really be nearby.
Well actually, we are working on the live album from the shows in Japan. I'm trying to get that finished.
We don't tell a 17-year-old kid that Nike sucks, because the fact of the matter is, Nike doesn't suck. They're actually very good at what they do.
I'm a storyteller. I'm not like any other comic. I tell detailed stories - not made-up stuff, but true stories.
I actually have heard of acts who only do their new album, and don't do their hits. I've never been in that mind set.
