Sometimes James Bond movies drive me crazy. They're fun to watch, but they don't have anything to do at all with what intelligence officers really do.
The only club I have ever belonged to is the James Bond fan club. Member since 1979.
When I started playing, I played in R&B bands. I played James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and all that.
It's like James Brown used to say... I don't know, but whatever I play it's got to be funky.
I'm somebody who listens to a lot of funk, a lot of James Brown, and I want to be somebody who contributes all that energy to the mainstream.
I just gravitate to those more testosterone-filled sort of parts than me playing something a bit more fairy-like.
I think every player listens out for his name being sung and it's something I really enjoy.
The hardest thing about being James Brown is I have to live. I don't have no down time.
If it weren't for the mentorship and guidance from people like my mother, James Brown and others, I wouldn't have been able to make something of my life.
