I never really thought of myself as a TV critic. I was presenting TV before I was writing about it.
The older I get, the more I'm starting to believe in myself.
When you start out in a team, you have to get the teamwork going and then you get something back.
In my life, I wanted to feel tall. I wanted to be somebody. I wanted to be tall as the Sears Tower. I wanted to be on top of the Sears Tower. I wanted to be as strong as the Sears Tower feels.
I didn't think of myself as writing 'cli-fi,' but I'll take the label. I'll take any label that makes someone think they might be interested in my stories.
I'd like to write some songs that are so good that nobody understands them. Not even myself.
But then you have to write a song, so at that point, I picked up the reins and started to write lyrics.
I get started at 5:30 in the morning and write till 10 A.M. Then I hike six or seven miles before going back to work.
Mostly I have to try to censor myself so as not to write things that will hurt other people, or that will go too far.
